||The Logistics Manager will report hierarchically to the Garage & Machineries Manager who in turn reports hierarchically to the COO & CAO. The incumbent will be responsible for directly supervising the daily activities of transport & logistics that rely heavily on trucks and trailers use in the course of site operations.
Accountable and responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
Manage & control the Fleet operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as the liaison between project management, planning, project team, and line management to ensure cost-effective use of resources and to provide high-quality service to all sites.
To provide advice to managers and staff on all transport & logistics related issues to improve service level and efficiency.
Manage spends on the purchase of assets and consumable inventories in liaison with the Procurement Department to ensure that Fleet Budgets are in control.
Comply with all statutory compliance requirements related to the vehicles concerning Road Transport Authorities, Municipality, and other government agencies to protect the company against any statutory penalties.
Ensure timely renewals of insurance and registration of all vehicles to minimize any risk as per Qatar traffic authorities.
Manage healthy relationships with external suppliers (e.g. Dealers, Leasing companies, Fuel card providers, bulk diesel suppliers, tires, and maintenance) to ensure preferred treatment and delivering best value.
Demonstrate continuous effort to improve fleet operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
Maintain up-to-date record on all vehicles operating in BOTC for the purpose of efficient tracking of repair, maintenance, and service.
Maintain an awareness of new developments in transport to ensure that Company continues to provide the most effective service possible.
Supervise workloads, schedule, tasks, and other related functions.
Review and recommend the repair and replacement of trucks and fleet vehicles.
Ensure compliance with safety standards in transportation functions.
Supervise contractors who may be engaged to perform service work for the department
Develop and maintain a positive working rapport with the transport operators, staff, and the management
Perform other duties as may be required or assigned by the Management
